WHAT DREW YOU TO THE SOUTH OF FRANCE FOR THIS SHOOT?
Having spent so many months of 2020 + 2021 locked up in cold/rainy London, and deprived of that beautiful golden light I so missed - I knew that as soon as we were able to travel again, I wanted to shoot somewhere warm, textured and romantic. To me, the South of France always has such a beautiful quality of light, and especially with the pink tones in so many of the buildings and stone - I knew it would be the perfect setting for an inspiring shoot. The French government certainly didn't make it easy for us to get in but once we were there, it was magical. Made even more special by the beautiful model Ambre, who I found on instagram and was based nearby in Marseille. It's always such a pleasure to be working with local models and authentic artists when traveling! Not to mention my friend and clever stylist - Caitlin Jones.
MUST SEE LOCAL BEACHES..
Sainte Maxime and Les Issambres are a lot less touristy than Saint Tropez and in many ways more authentic. We found that just by hopping from each cove to the next - you could find the perfect hidden beaches off the beaten track. They often had small little restaurants like Le Cercle attached to them - and ready to welcome you in after a long hard day of swimming and sunbathing!
BEST RESTAURANTS WHILE YOU WERE THERE?
One of my absolute favourite meals was right around the corner from where we were staying. It was a beautiful circular restaurant on the water, and coupled with a delicious bottle of Rose and Vongole pasta... we were in heaven! 'Le Cercle'
FAVOURITE BOTEH PIECE?
I absolutely adored the Lazuli Low Back Bodice and Lazuli Full Maxi Skirt outfit. I'm always drawn to anything backless in summer! I also can't wait to get my hands on the custom jacquard black bikini! Everything Boteh creates is beautiful and so mindful. It was such a pleasure to work with the brand in France, and having Amelia's trust to create work that would sit well with the rest of her brand. Hopefully only the first of many projects!
